The new Spike Likes site launched

It’s taken us what seems like an endless amount of evenings and weekends to build the new Spike Likes site and yet, it still has a few holes here and there.  This project is definitely an ongoing work in progress.

This site is different because we decided to design outside of our normal “must stick to rules” design methodology. The biggest rule we chose to break was to completely ditch IE6 and design for IE 7 / IE 8 along with FF, Safari, Chrome and even Camino. Sounds like a lot of testing, right? It is!

Yes, there’s an Internet Explorer 8–more on that later.

So, if you are still using IE 6 and our site looks odd – time to upgrade! Not only does IE 6 NOT support PNG files with a transparent background, it suffers from multiple CSS complexes.

Something we noticed, an older Mac OS X operating Safari 3, the jQuery used in our Web Portfolio  does odd things. We tested on a newer Mac  and an iPhone both using the same version of Safari and everything checks out perfectly.   This means back to the grind for us and more testing to see if the issue is unique to our old Mac laptop or…
